The Kepler Texatron™ is a patented, fast-pulsed Torsatron developed by Kepler Fusion. Unlike traditional fusion devices such as Tokamaks or Stellarators, the Texatron™ simplifies plasma confinement by utilizing twisted, donut-shaped coils with electric currents running in the same direction—minimizing electromagnetic stress and simplifying construction.
While traditional Torsatrons operate in steady state and require complex external heating methods, the Texatron™ delivers electrical energy in fast-rising pulses. This enables rapid plasma heating through resistive heating and converging shock waves — proven to reach fusion temperatures in prior Los Alamos experiments.
Uniquely, the Texatron™ generates electricity directly by exerting pressure on its own magnetic field—eliminating the need for turbines and steam cycles.
